The way forward

Well firstly we all would like to wish anyone that logs onto this site and comes to see us at gigs, a very happy new year.

2011 was a time of change for us, with band members moving on. But we were very lucky to have waiting in the wing’s a very solid powerhouse of a drummer, Neil Mickleborough, and also his extremely talented daughter Tasha on bass and vocals. This has now made us a very strong and flexible band, so Fenny our lead vocalist can share some of the vocals with Tasha, and when she is singing the multi-talented Fenny takes over on Bass. This also allows us to try more types of material. However rest assured (in a slight change to Frank Sinatra’s words) we will always do it OUR WAY!!!

Also for this year we will be bringing out some of our own material to give it an airing. First of several of our own written work is an edgy tight song called, Hit The Wall. It’s a song I’ve been working on for a couple of years, but only now has the band been of the right frame of mind and ability to give it a go. We will let you know when we put it on YouTube.

Thanks to everyone that comes to gigs and please come and chat to us. We love to hear constructive  comments, and just generally chat about music, look forward to see you at the next gig.

New Bassist

Marc has decided it’s time for him to move on and concentrate on his education and career.

The band welcomes Tasha to the role of bassist and a share of some of the vocals. Tasha and Neil are also two thirds of Gravity which means they will be extra busy when Gravity share the bill with Cuttin Edge in future.

Neil takes over on Drums

The band would like to welcome Neil into the drummer’s seat. With three gigs in the past week, it’s been a busy beginning for Neil. The third of which was with Neil’s other band, Gravity. Sadly this marked the end of live music at Livingstones under it’s new management. Another live music venue bites the dust!

We’re at The Gig In The Park 2011

We’re playing at the Gig In The Park on the Jungle Stage on Saturday 6th August at 2:30pm.

Unfortunately Mike has a commitment on that day, but all is not lost. We’re pleased to announce that Ollie Calver, from El Bastardos, will deputise for Mike.

We’re teaming up with 50 Fifty

On the 20th August we’re teaming up with 50 Fifty at Livingstones in Kessingland.

50 Fifty features some of Mike’s friends from his old band from the 70′s, Nerve. They play covers from artists including The Beatles, The Shadows, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash and Chuck Berry.

Marshall Custom Cabinet #1

Marshall Amplification have announced a new department called Signature Series and Design Store, which was launched at the Namm Show in Frankfurt. This new Store provides an opportunity for customers to customise their own Marshall equipment.

Through Pete at Morlings, Mike ordered an 4×12 cabinet with the band’s logo on the front, not realising that this was going to be the first one sold to the public. With the cabinet comes a certificate to certify it as #1!

Mike travelled to Marshall HQ to be presented with the cabinet by Danny Thomas of the Design Store, Marshall Amplification.

Jon Haward designed and drew the Cuttin Edge logo. He is a professional comic artist and his work can be seen at his website JonHawardArt.com. If your band needs an original logo, contact Jon through his website.

Mike was so impressed with his first cabinet, that he has since had the rest of his stack customised.

Another gig with Gravity

Following on from our amazing night at Livingstones in Kessingland, we’re playing another double header with Gravity there on the 30th April.

Come and join us for a night featuring two great bands that complement each other, music from Airbourne to Lady Gaga and Rolling Stones to Guns ‘n’ Roses.

Another gig with Gravity…

We’re teaming up with Gravity again, this time in Beccles, Suffolk. Music as diverse as Lady Gaga to Green Day.

The date for your diary is Saturday 19th March 2011 at the Butcher’s Arms in Beccles.

Please download the PDF poster and help us promote the gig. Thanks.
